Business Days publishes public holiday calendars and working day arithmetic for countries around
the world. The aim is narrow and deliberate: to answer the questions that follow a holiday
list rather than to stop at the list itself.

Most calendars tell you that a country has, say, eleven public holidays. Almost nobody needs
that number on its own. What they need to know is how many working days a quarter actually
holds once those holidays are removed, whether a payment term lands on a day anyone will be at
their desk, or which days a team spread across three countries is genuinely all working. Those
are counting problems, and a list does not solve them.

So every country page here pairs the dates with the arithmetic. Weekends are set per country
rather than assumed, because the Saturday and Sunday pattern is not universal. Holidays that
land on a rest day are flagged, because they are routinely miscounted as extra time off when
they add nothing. Regional holidays are listed but excluded from national totals, since a
figure that shifted with local calendars would describe nobody accurately.

The site is small and independently run. It carries advertising, which pays for the hosting
and the time spent checking dates. Advertising has no influence on which countries are covered
or on what the pages say.
