Privacy policy
This policy explains what Business Days collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written
to be read rather than to be skimmed past.
## What the site collects directly
Business Days has no user accounts, no newsletter and no comment system. It does not ask you for
your name, your email address or any other personal detail, and there is no form on the site
that submits personal data.
The calculators work by putting your inputs in the page address. If you count the working days
between two dates, those dates appear in the URL. They are processed to produce the answer and
are recorded in ordinary server access logs alongside your IP address, browser user agent and
the time of the request. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
They are retained for a limited period and then discarded.
## Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to
serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on
your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised
advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. You can
also opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting
https://www.aboutads.info/choices/.
Where required, a consent notice is shown before any non essential cookie is set, and you may
decline. Declining does not restrict access to anything on this site. Advertising will still
appear but will not be personalised.
Third party advertising vendors operate under their own privacy policies, which govern what
they collect and how they use it. This site does not have access to, and does not control, the
cookies those vendors set.
## Analytics
This site may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive.
It is configured to record aggregate traffic patterns rather than to build a profile of an
individual visitor, and IP addresses are anonymised.
Analytics and advertising cookies are set to denied before any tag loads, and they stay denied
until you accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the notice, no analytics or advertising
cookie is written and no measurement takes place. The calendars and the calculators behave
identically either way; nothing on this site is withheld behind consent.
Your answer is remembered in your own browser's local storage so you are not asked repeatedly.
Clearing your browser data removes it and the notice appears again.
## Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not affect the
calculators or the calendars, which work entirely without them.
You can change a previous consent decision by clearing this site's data in your browser, which
removes the stored answer and shows the notice again.
Depending on where you live you may have rights over personal data held about you, including
the right to request a copy of it or ask for it to be deleted. Because this site holds no
account data, in practice such a request concerns server log entries. Write to contact@businessdays.info and
describe the request.
## Children
This site is aimed at an adult professional audience and is not directed at children. It does
not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the text on this page. Continued use of
the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
