Reading these figures
The working day count treats Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, which is the standard working week in Poland. Only nationwide holidays are deducted; a date observed in one region alone still counts as a working day here, because a national figure that moved with regional calendars would describe nobody accurately.
4 of this year's public holidays fall on a weekend and therefore add no time away from work: Easter Sunday (20 Apr), Constitution Day (3 May), Pentecost (8 Jun), All Saints' Day (1 Nov). Whether these are compensated with a substitute day depends on national rules rather than on the calendar, so confirm before planning around them.

Notes on Poland
Poland has a rule that very few countries share: when a public holiday falls on a Saturday, the
employer must give an additional day off within the same settlement period. The Polish working
year therefore compensates for weekend collisions instead of absorbing them, and the number of
working days stays far steadier than the raw calendar would suggest.
The figures on this page do not model that compensation, because the replacement day is chosen by
the employer rather than fixed by the calendar. In a year with several Saturday holidays, the
real figure will be lower than the one shown here by the number of those collisions.
